Prior to founding Links Capital, Ron was a Partner in a middle market private equity fund with offices in Calgary and Vancouver. Ron’s responsibilities included leading transactions and managing investments throughout Western Canada. The fund’s primary focus was investing in working capital expansions, management buyouts, acquisitions, divestitures and turnarounds of mid-market companies. Ron’s expertise in management buyouts, acquisitions and divestitures has been further enhanced when he was solely responsible of a specialized banking institution’s management buyout fund in Western Canada. Other past executive experience includes being a member on the investment committee of a private equity fund, investment banking in the US and sitting on various boards as a director in the financial, forest by-products, manufacturing, wholesaling, retail, and oilfield service industries.
Ron has the Chartered Financial Analyst designation with the CFA Institute as well as the Corporate Finance designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Ron has passed the U.S. National Association of Securities Dealers Series 7 & 63 examinations and has been designated as a Portfolio Manager by the Alberta Securities Commission.
